Disney Movie Club DVD

To whom this may concern, last month I ordered one and only one DVD "The Fox and The Hound 2 which I requested in VHS form since I don't own a DVD player. Along with that, I recieved seven more DVD's I can't even recall ordering I was told I wouldn't be billed. Yet on my recent bank statement it shows $692.88 was taken out of my account, which is more then I would owe if I did order any of these. I don't know where your company got my name and address in the first place. It is possible one of my kids pressed something on the computer.without my knowledge. I'm aware the 30 day limit is up but I only have a box no return slip or invoice so unless I can use a regular box I can't return these movies none of them have been opened or used just sitting in the corner gathering dust. my 9 and 11 yr old children shouldn't be blamed for someone else's mistake in your company. What kind of business are you trying to run it seems as though a number of people have had money sucked out of their pockets without even knowing until the bank result comes in. I demand $692.88 to be refunded to my account or credited by the time my next Bank draft comes in by December 1st. I am willing to pay what I owe for the single DVD/VHS The Fox and the Hound 2 but whatever DVD's were recieved later on,I refuse to pay for. If this isn't done, I will be forced to sue you're company for the amount you owe me Along with this refund or credit I would appreciate you taking me off you're mailing list so as neither one of us has this problem in the future! The way they get you on these charges is simple, each month they send a packet of information which includes alot of information, look for a 5x9 card and return it and you want be charged for movies, return movies and they put money back to your account :?

They're scammers for sure at the Disney Movie Club. Instead of charging me the $1.99 per movie X 4, they charged me $40+. We can't let them get away with this.

To whom this may concern, I entered the Hospital,in Oct. Before that I ordered One DVD "The Fox and The Hound 2." I was sent, seven extra dvd's As well. There was $692.88 billed to my Credit card, Without permission! I Demand a refund or credit towards, my bank and credit account.I refuse to keep 7 DVD's without a DVD player To even use them. Poor business practice

I have had movies sent that were cancelled, charged for movies I had cancelled. Wasn't told you had to order from Disney Movie Club to meet commitment after I had ordered many movies. Met commitment then told I had to purchase one more movie. Lastly, I told them to cancell my membership and I received another card to cancel the movie of the month. I'm sick of this company. Walt Disney is probably turning over in his grave right now. He never handled buisness this way. What part of no do these people not understand. Shoddy business practices.

Disney Movie Club spams people's email accounts (people who have never had any contact with them before) multiple times to each person. They violate laws and regulations.

They resort to such unethical behaviour because they are a poor, unethical business. If you are considering patronizing them, know that the violate the privacy and peace of countless people through email law violations. Even though I have three small children, I know for certain now that I will NEVER utilize their service.

Any company that allows themselves to be spammed out or spams out themselves deserves to be put out of business, penalized, fined, and cannot be running a legitiamate service. Do not send Disney Movie Club one penny of your money (and definitely not your private information - they CANNOT be trusted).

Follow the rules of the club, decline features properly, and you will love the club, dont, and of course you wont. it's called personal responsibility.

Disney Movie Club Disgust -- No phone no. on any of their mailings. Could not call to complain.

I fulfilled my contract with DMC but they are still sending me DVDs. There was no phone number on mailings so I returned DVDs and paid for postage (five of them and put notes in each of these packages that I did not want any more DVDs). Today (9/14/08) I received another DVD. I went on the Internet, found their site and left them an e-mail. On their site they have an 800 number (which, of course, they wouldn't put on their mailings). Do not order from Disney Movie Club unless you want to pay forever!!!!

Sneaky Charges Since I Bought 4 Movies

In 2008, I saw an ad to get a free cell phone with the exception of buying a few things. Yes, I was suckered into it. But, being frustrated with the *** cellphone, I succumbed and clicked on it. What you had to do was buy into these deals, and one of them was Disney Movie Club. I bought 4 movies for around 18.99 They charged my VISA, I received the movies, blah blah all was fine and dandy. Next month comes along, and my online banking shows a 46.00 charge from Disney Movie Club (DMC). What the ***?! I didn't subscribe or agree to any dedication to buying movies..what was going on? A few days later, I received two movies that I never ordered and wouldn't even watch for that matter. I shrugged it off, thinking that I would just send them back and get a refund. This explained the 46.00 charge on my VISA from them. Another month goes by, and I get a 33.00 charge on my VISA...okay, what the *** is going on!? Obviously, the charge from DMC. Now I am really pissed and try to find a phone number to call and get some answers. There is nothing on there site about contacting them, and OH SURPRISE their FAQ site about 'Cancelling my membership' is down for construction. Awww, how *** convenient. Anyway, I finally find a number through one of these consumer sites and get some cheesy automated guy telling me about deals they offer. I started pressing random buttons, and it usually works and the phone thinks your ***, and need help so I was transferred to an 'agent' right away. Despite all the consumer reports about getting no help from this company, the lady was really friendly and informative with my concern. Here is the low down: You are suckered into the site. ALL you want is your 4 *** movies...BUT, in doing this, I guess you agree to becoming a full member which comes with fulfilling a full membership. I'm guessing this is in fine print somewhere, because I sure as *** didn't see it and would decline the offer had I read that. So, you are now obligated to buy five movies from them, EXCLUDING the ones you originally bought, to fulfill your membership with them. They do this at one movie a month. They charge your account, and send you the movies. You can decline these offers (by going on the site and declining once you get the offer in the mail every month), and you will not get charged BUT you will never get out of this until you buy the five movies from them. I told her, well I am just going to keep declining them until I have declined 5 movie offers...and then I can call and cancel my account right? WRONG. She said, well in that case they will just charge you the amount of 5 movies once the time is up. Great. There is NO way out of this. So, basically if your stuck in this, you suck it up and pay for the five movies and then cancel your membership, or you decline all five and pay one large sum at the end. Personally, I'm going to *** the bullet and pay for the five movies that are sent to me. It has taught me a lesson...and I will definitely never do this again. I hope this helps someone in understanding why they are getting charged for movies they did not order. P.S. The woman on the phone actually had the BALLS to 'interest' me in some Mickey Mouse back to school deal. Like....***! COME ON.

I have had this happen to me. I found out today.

I knew about the whole having to buy 5 more movies but I thought it was on your own time. Irritated is a small word for how I feel.

Honestly, think about it, just cancel the *** account/card they keep charging, and then with your new account if possible, put a block on "disneymovieclub" and that might solve your problems. The card I had on my account was a prepaid visa and since it is cleared off and in the trash now the movies they tried to *** me on were not successful charges, therefore, they are getting NO more money out of me!!!

Yeah, I was so surprised when Disney turned out to be the culprit. You know, it has taught me to really read over things though, and not just on the internet.

I finally cancelled my membership after buying 5 *** movies.

They didn't have a great selection for adults but it was alright. I am glad this is over.

I honestly hate DMC. I have called them numerous times with complaints and every time nothing gets resolved.

I am tired of getting money pulled out of my account when there was no warning at the beginning of all of this that it would happen. I just want it to be over and my account to be canceled/ deactivated. I've been sent movies that I never wanted. Also every time I try to return to them, they never accept the return.

Please just cancel my account!!! I will never recommend DMC to anyone.

Disney movie club phones

Their phone system is setup up to confuse you and put you out of their loop. I first called and the phone system recognized my account number. When I tried to verify with my zip code it hung up on me. I recalled about 20 times trying to re-enter my info and curiously now the system says my account number is not valid. I am permanently locked out of their phones with no way to talk with anyone there. Meanwhile I keep getting videos I never ordered that are waaaaaay overpriced and have no way of stopping it. This company needs to be put out of business. Some executives are living high on the hog from these unsavory business practices.

Disney Movie Club is a ripoff

Although the offer of free DVDs to join the Disney Movie Club might sound tempting, please learn from my experience - it is NOT a good deal! You will pay top dollar for any DVDs to complete your agreement (the discounted DVDs don't count), not to mention having to pay to return a lot of junk you never ordered. I joined and selected my free DVDs, with the promise to purchase four more titles in the next two years. I'm retired and travel a lot. When I returned home recently from a trip to the Catskills region, I found 2 mailings from the Disney Movie Club that I had not ordered, and my credit card had been debited for the full price of these unrequested titles (plus shipping and handling, of course). I called Disney Movie Club's 800 number and their response was that I had agreed to this arrangement when I joined (oh, and would I like to buy this month's selection - NO!) It cost me a trip to the post office and over $10 to return these titles I never requested. Note: Some of the membership details are in very fine print (buried deep into their newsletter) and didn't come until after I had joined ("Details later"). The DVDs are mailed in plain envelopes from a box number, so you're not always sure they're from Disney. The return address does not say DISNEY MOVIE CLUB! I called my bank to see what could be done, and an officer told me that what they were doing was illegal. They suggested I come in and fill out a form to prevent them from automatically debiting my account in the future for any of this junk they were sending. I also had to cancel my card and get a new one. A real pain in the...well, you know. One of the DVDs they sent me was a title I had already received when I first joined. Also, one of the titles I had requested was their newest release (CARS). I had been ordering WIDESCREEN versions of all the other titles. They sent me a FULL screen version. When I complained about this by email, I received no response from them whatsoever. The way it works is, they bombard your email account with offers (so many I was just deleting them), and/or they send you mailings with special offers. If you don't respond by mail or phone within a few days, these titles are automatically sent to you and your card is charged - whether you want them or not. So, if you happen to be out of town or on vacation, and you get a mailing from them and don't return home before the deadline, you may find a little surprise package or two from Disney when you return. Don't open them! Refuse them! You may recall the Columbia Record Club operated this way a few years ago - their business did a nosedive before they merged with BMG. Buy your DVDs cheaper across the counter and save yourself a lot of money and aggravation. Consider yourself warned! My nephew tried to warn me about this club when I shared the offer with him. I wish I had listened. The Disney Movie Club has given Uncle Walt a black eye. He must be spinning in his grave at the way The Disney Company is ruining his name with greed. It's getting so you almost have to take out a second mortgage on your home to buy a 3-day pass for the theme parks now. I have canceled any future plans to travel to Disney World in Florida, or Disneyland in California as a result of this experience. Remember! READ THE FINE PRINT!
