I have a membership and my son signed up through refer a friend. We have the same name but live at different addresses, have our own credit cards with different billing addresses.
They sign him up and sent the first shipment out and then cancelled his account and access to the website. When asked why they said that there was already an account for that name. Im a senior and hes a junior. No matter how i tried to explain this simple socially acceptable custom of naming your son after yourself, they refused to reopen his account.
The wouldnt even look that there are two addresses or contact both credit card companies to see two different billing addresses.
They seemed to be just going off of someones notes on the account. My son now hates Disney

NEVER SIGNED UP FOR THIS
I never signed up for the DMC and received 4 DVDs in the mail today. Went to check my credit card bill and saw a bill for an online transaction for 7.95.
I did not authorize this and thinks its awfully suspicious how DMC got a hold of my credit card. Seems like a giant scam. You can't get a hold of anyone on 800 number provided but if you call the number to join the club you can talk to a real live person.
They said they have cancelled my account and will reverse the charges (I've also disputed this with my credit card company). This is a scam.
VIP membership does not do anything
I signed up with Disney movie club thinking that it was a good deal once I make it to the VIP membership... Little did I know, you get the same perks as the normal membership.
There isn't anything special besides the title of being a VIP member. You still have to buy movies at full price to benefit, just like the membership before.
Just buy your movies from Best Buy or Walmart, it's cheaper there anyways. Plus you have to log into the site every month to accept or decline their featured title, if you forget to do it they'll charge you and send you the movie anyways.
Preferred solution: Let the company propose a solution
Unauthorized orders and charges
Even though I respond online in a timely matter and decline the featured selections, I keep receiving the movies and am charged for them. This is after I have received email confirmations of my declining featured selections.
Costs are overpriced, I believe. I don't feel like paying almost $40 to receive something I do not WANT. I am beginning to think this is a scam. What would Walt Disney think if he were still with us?
Infuriates me that it appears that they are taking advantage of so many people. Rip off in the long run. pissed off too many times by them. A commitment is a contract between 2 parties.
I honored my part of the agreement, but, Disney Movie Club is not honoring their part of the agreement. They are very unprofessional.
