I HAVE BEEN A CUSTOMER OF THE DISNEY MOVIE CLUB AND ENTERING OUR CODE IN THE MOVIE REWARDS SINCE FEBRUARY 2010. DISNEYREWARDS.COM JUST EXPIRED ALL OF MY POINTS TO DATE!!! WE HAVE BEEN SAVING THEM UP FOR SOMETHING DECENT! I SAY THE WORD 'DECENT' CBECAUSE ALL OF THEIR REQRDS ARE CHEAP AND POINTLESS UNLESS YOU HAVE A TON AND I MEAN A TON OF POINTS. THIS TURNED OUT TO ME A TREMENDOUS WASTE OF MONEY AS I COULD HAVE CHOSEDN TO BUY THE MOVIES ON AMAZON FOR A CHEAPER PRICE AND SAVED MYSELF TIME LOGGING ON TO THEIR WEBSITE TO ENTER THE CODES! ALSO, I WAS UNAWARE THAT THEY WERE GOIGN TO FLIP A SWITCH AND EXPIRE ALL OF OUR POINTS. HAD I KNOWN I WOULD HAVE CASHED THEM IN FOR A CHEAP GIFT. CAN YOU IMAGINE... ENTERING CODES FOR 7 YEARS JUST TO HAVE THIS COMPANY RIP YOU OFF!

My husband signed up for DMC and in an effort to do something nice for a family, I signed up for one under their name and address but with my payment information. They refuse to honor the membership because that the billing address was used on another account. A billing address is for payment and a mailing address is for the household. Disney apparently didn’t like this ambiguity in their contract being brought to their attention so their advocate/legal office, instead of calling me like I requested, sent an email hiding behind the provision that lets them reject an account because they feel like it. Nice doing business with Disney. They charge outrageous prices but are crying foul over a few movies. This is what I get for trying to do something nice. Lesson learned don’t do nice things for people because businesses like Disney frown upon doing kind acts.

Bank was charged, Yet No Movie was sent to me

I'm consistent on checking the featured titles and declining if it's not something I want. I thought the rules were you had 24 months to buy 5 titles, and if you don't respond to the featured ones you get charged. Well, I just got charged 32.50. I declined the December title because I owned it already, and I still have til the 29th of January to respond to the next. How could I possibly be charged when I've followed the fine print. I don't even have a tracking number even if I did screw up and miss the featured title, which I know I didn't.

Take this from an experienced, pissed DMC club member. Never just "refuse" one of their shipments.

Spend the $4.00 or so to return it via Media Mail. I returned one of their shipments last summer following our postal clerk's advice- just 'refuse'. DMC has denied ever receiving it & I have no proof that it was returned. Best of luck to you.

I'm still battling with them and waiting on items I've shipped back. :)

Unauthorized deliveries

My 2 year membership agreement was unfulfilled with 4 movies left to buy. My 2 years was wrapping up and I received two deliveries of unauthorized purchases of movies that were in my online shopping cart and my debit card that was on file.

I signed up to DMC and goty first order and paid for it ...got the movies no problem but no i notice on December 18th they took $49.65 from my account so im thinking ok must be for the membership but NOW today 2 days before christmas they took another $49.65 so within a week they have stolen almost $100 from my bank account with no explaination and i have not received anymore movies so wtf am i paying over 100 bucks for 7 movies that are years old!?!!

When you signed up for your Disney Movie Club membership, you received an initial discounted order with a commitment of purchasing a certain number of movies at full club price within 2 years. These can be any movie of your choice to fulfill your commitment. We want you to get the movies you want.

The Featured Title program is part of your membership agreement with the Disney Movie Club.

Here is how it works: About every 3-4 weeks, up to 15 times a year, we send a Featured Title notification to every member. It is every member’s responsibility to respond to the Featured Title by the date indicated on the notification. You are not obligated to purchase the Featured Title selection. You are welcome to order other selections in its place or nothing at all.

A tip you obviously need: never, ever allow anyone to just take money from your bank account via your use of a debit card or giving them your bank account info. Always use a credit card if you cannot pay in cash.

I have a membership and my son signed up through refer a friend. We have the same name but live at different addresses, have our own credit cards with different billing addresses.

They sign him up and sent the first shipment out and then cancelled his account and access to the website. When asked why they said that there was already an account for that name. Im a senior and hes a junior. No matter how i tried to explain this simple socially acceptable custom of naming your son after yourself, they refused to reopen his account.

The wouldnt even look that there are two addresses or contact both credit card companies to see two different billing addresses.

They seemed to be just going off of someones notes on the account. My son now hates Disney

Had a similar problem. I referred someone and we live in different houses on the same property but they refuse to number one honor the offer of free movies and they say the are gonna charge her if she doesn't send movies back!

I have always loved watching Disney Movies, I personally love the songs they have for them. It always kept the family entertained on movie night where my girls would pick one movie of their choice and we'd enjoy a night at the movies with Disney.

I went to look into my Disney account and it says my account was disabled, no reason or rhyme for it. I wanted to order their special of 4 movies for a buck and now can't get the movies my kids want.

Saddens me to know that a reputable company would not give notice or reason for their actions. When asked what company I'd choose for movies, I will not say Disney any longer.

I just made the mistake of signing up this morning. I read all of the fine print and saw nothing about being charged a monthly membership fee.

Did you figure out if its every month?

Or have you been able to end your membership with them? Im now worried that i too will be scammed by them.

I got the 4 movies for $1 and now (a few months later) it charged $40. They say that unless you respond to an email and click decline it will auto charge you.

This will keep happening until you pay for 5 movies worth $20 each.

I was able to get a refund on the first auto charge but I'm going to have to pay $100 to stop my account. It is definitely a scam.

The Disney Movie Club does not have a monthly membership fee. Seems what you are referring to is the Featured Title program.

NEVER SIGNED UP FOR THIS

I never signed up for the DMC and received 4 DVDs in the mail today. Went to check my credit card bill and saw a bill for an online transaction for 7.95.

I did not authorize this and thinks its awfully suspicious how DMC got a hold of my credit card. Seems like a giant scam. You can't get a hold of anyone on 800 number provided but if you call the number to join the club you can talk to a real live person.

They said they have cancelled my account and will reverse the charges (I've also disputed this with my credit card company). This is a scam.

Either you gave DMC your card info or someone else signed you up for it. Think about who could have access to your card in your circle of friends or family.

VIP membership does not do anything

I signed up with Disney movie club thinking that it was a good deal once I make it to the VIP membership... Little did I know, you get the same perks as the normal membership.

There isn't anything special besides the title of being a VIP member. You still have to buy movies at full price to benefit, just like the membership before.

Just buy your movies from Best Buy or Walmart, it's cheaper there anyways. Plus you have to log into the site every month to accept or decline their featured title, if you forget to do it they'll charge you and send you the movie anyways.

Unauthorized orders and charges

Even though I respond online in a timely matter and decline the featured selections, I keep receiving the movies and am charged for them. This is after I have received email confirmations of my declining featured selections.

Costs are overpriced, I believe. I don't feel like paying almost $40 to receive something I do not WANT. I am beginning to think this is a scam. What would Walt Disney think if he were still with us?

Infuriates me that it appears that they are taking advantage of so many people. Rip off in the long run. pissed off too many times by them. A commitment is a contract between 2 parties.

I honored my part of the agreement, but, Disney Movie Club is not honoring their part of the agreement. They are very unprofessional.
